Describe the steps that you will use to test whether your tower can stand for one minute. You do not need to test the whole design at once. You may want to test one part or one structure within your overall design. Or, you could build your tower. See what works and does not work. Take it down, make a new plan, and build another Taller Tower.

You will be able to earn 15 points for each test of your Tall Tower designs. This badge can be earned 3 times for 3 different tests.

Engineers draw plans to help them think. You are going to have to think hard to find ways to build your Tall Tower.

Challenge #13

Build a Tall Tower that will stand for 1 minute using only the materials provided.

Gravity is always pulling down. It will always look for weakness in your tower and try to make it lean or twist or collapse. You will need to use data as you build to find ways to use the strength of your tower’s base to make your tower tall.
