Chapter 10

What is the main idea of this chapter?

A circle in the grass captures Jim's attention. Jim's grandfather believes the Indians probably trained horses there. Jake and Otto think the Indians rode in circles around white men that they captured. What does Jim think about the circle?

Who makes a sleigh for Jim?

Jim takes Antonia and her younger sister, Yulka, on a sleigh ride. Where do they go?

It is very cold and windy on the way home from the sleigh ride.

What happens to Jim?

Otto tells a story about when he was on the boat to America, coming from Austria. He was asked to accompany a woman with two children who was going to Chicago to join her husband. What was unusual about this woman?
