What is the main idea of this chapter?

One of the many things which intimidates Winston about visiting O'Brien in his flat is its cleanliness: "The passage down which he led them was softly carpeted, with cream–papered walls and white wainscoting, all exquisitely clean."

What does"exquisitely"mean?

When O'Brien asks why they have come, Winston ". . .paused, realizing for the first time the vagueness of his own motives."

What does"motives"mean?

O'Brien promises that Winston will receive "a book from which you will learn the true nature of the society we live in, and the strategy by which we shall destroy it."

What does"strategy"mean?

O'Brien describes the difficult circumstances under which members of the Brotherhood work: "You will never have anything to sustain you, except the idea. You will get no comradeship and no encouragement. When finally you are caught, you will get no help."

What does"sustain"mean?

When O'Brien asks Winston if he has any last message or question before going, what does Winston ask him?
